Zanzibar

Zanzibar – a place of longing.

White beaches on the Indian Ocean, crystal clear waters with up to 27 degrees water temperature, a wide range of water sports activities, including swimming with dolphins and sea turtles and not forgetting a rich cultural heritage. The island’s capital, Stone Town, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its unique blend of African, Arab and Indian cultureinfluences. You will explore the narrow, winding streets and markets with their traditional houses, visit the old slave market and the famous House of Miracles, which was once the palace of the sultan when Zanzibar was part of the Omani domain.

The island is world famous for its spices, especially cloves. During a visit to a spice plantation you will experience Zanzibar with all your senses. You can learn about the history of the spice trade and see how the spices are grown, harvested and processed.

You won’t be able to get enough of the picturesque sunsets. That’s why we recommend this destination with its romantic moments to our honeymooners.

When should you visit Zanzibar?

The most tourists visit the island during the dry season from June to October. During this time, the weather is generally sunny and warm, with little rainfall. This is also the time when the waters around the islands are clearest and ideal for snorkeling. However, it’s also the peak season with more tourists, and it can be crowded and more expensive. We therefore recommend that you also consider the months before and after the dry season.
